Funded jointly by the European Union in Türkiye and the World Health Organization, and implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, the 11th Steering Committee Meeting of the Social Inclusion of Persons with Mental Disabilities Project was held in Ankara with broad participation.
During the meeting, progress on capacity building activities, interventions aimed at strengthening community based mental health services, training programmes and service delivery models were comprehensively presented and assessed with stakeholders.
Sessions held with the contributions of high level representatives focused on strengthening multisectoral coordination mechanisms, ensuring sustainability, improving service quality and scaling up rights based approaches, with strategic priorities discussed and common directions agreed upon.
The Social Inclusion of Persons with Mental Disabilities Project continues to contribute to Türkiye’s national policies and practices by promoting social inclusion in the field of mental health, strengthening access to services and scaling up inclusive, sustainable and evidence based interventions for vulnerable groups.
