Person-Centered Planning Training

23-24 August 2021 - Ankara

The second training of the “Individual-Centered Planning Training” series, which is carried out within the scope of the Social Inclusion for the Persons with Mental Disabilities Project carried out with the financial support of the European Union Delegation to Turkey, and with the collaboration of the World Health Organization, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Family and Social Services, was realized in Ankara between 23-24 August 2021 by Prof Dr Elif Gökçearslan from Ankara University, and Lecturer Dr Semra Şahin from Hacettepe University after the opening speech of Hulusi Armağan Yıldırım, General Director of Participation in Social and Economic Life. 

Developing modules for a national community-based care service model for persons with mental disabilities in Turkey, supporting policy development, planning, implementation, and regulation works regarding the services provided to persons with mental disabilities using the best evidence, and providing services to persons with mental disabilities, individual-centered approach modules for the development of a competent workforce that applies evidence-based treatment models in the care services is planned within the scope of the Social Inclusion for Persons with Mental Disabilities Project.

The aim of developing individual-centered plan is to analyze the individuals in terms of health, security, personal attributes, and aspects of their lives, and enable the individual to gain life skills regarding life satisfaction, self-realization, and realizing and using their own abilities based on the analysis results. In addition, individual-centered plan aims to help the individuals to progress in their life towards being productive, happy, and healthy individuals.

 

120 professional staff working in official care centers for persons with disabilities trained for preparing individual-centered plans and communicating with persons with disabilities through the trainings held until 03 September 2021.
